A four-week FutureLearn language course for online and blended learning, designed primarily for refugees in Jordan and Lebanon.
The challenge
Creating a supporting course to fill gaps in English language knowledge which had been revealed by previous MOOCs.
My role
- Designing a needs assessment questionnaire; working with NGO partners in the region to establish learning aims
- Planning and running two workshops, using Fink’s Significant Learning to understand student needs and the ABC learning design framework to design the course
- Briefing designers and the King’s Online video team to produce animations and graphics
- Advising subject matter experts about online pedagogy
